My mom is 87 and we have decided that I will go out and get the presents and wrap them and decorate her home. My mom loves Christmas and has tons of stuff to decorate her little apartment. Next week I am going up to her place to get that all together on Friday and the next day she is having a Christmas celebration with her PEEPS on Saturday. Wahooah - You go MicroDOT - Anyway, I got Moms presents bought yesterday and Mom was not home when I brought all the stuff over. No Problem - Just ringed moms best friend and spent some time with her. We had a great time - chatting - had a few hoots and laughs:
Mom got home after visiting her dearest old friend. They had a choir playing at the old age home that Winnie is in. They served wine and cheese and Mom loved to be there. We looked out the window and the sun was going down. I grabbed my camera to get a pic of this. By the way, the weather here in TDOT has been so beautiful!
After I got home, me hubby went to get something and I just love this pic of our puppy waiting for me hubby to get back:

HELP!
A guy who lives at Round Lake, Sask.(50 miles South of Yorkton) saw a ball bouncing around kind of strangely in the lake and went to investigate. It turned out to be a flathead catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a basketball which became stuck in its mouth!! The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The guy tried numerous times to get the ball out,but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish. You probably wouldn't have believed this, if you hadn't seen the following pictures..

Our House is a Very Very Very Fine House but Small!
This is a great idea for small homes. My friends husband could do this for us for sure. All we need is some 'moolah' to see the dream come true. We do not have a garage to store stuff (by the way - my dad always parked his car in the garage - nowadays none of the boomers do that cause the garage is filled with stuff) and the cupboard situation is limited as well - I have to be pretty savvy when it comes to organizing our little home. Another friend was telling me how she grew up in a home like ours just down the street with 6 other siblings. Stories like that make me grateful! We sure do live in a world of STUFF, nowadays. Theres a Steve Martin movie with Bernadette Peters called The Jerk. He comes from a poor black family (that in itself is hilarious) - He makes it big with Bernadette and then loses everything. I love the line from Bernadette:
"Its not about the money, its about the stuuuuuuuuuffffffffff!" LOL!

True for TDot
Had to go downtown this week and it took 1.5 hrs. to get back to our corner of the city from Casa Loma. While it only takes 15 minutes to get to the St. Lawrence Market. We manuevered thru all the side streets. Mom went to Niagara Falls to do a little gambling this week and it took her a ton of time to get back to the city due to the traffic. Anyway, would love to see this sign on one of our highways.

T.DOT INDIAN SUMMER & A WAKE!
We in T.Dot have been having the most wonderful weather. Walking out to my fav coffee shop in the early mornings with just a sweater is such a JOY! I even have been lax to completely purge the garden with this wonderful weather. The back deck is still open to the weather. Soon though we will have to get jiggy - watching the weather systems - to close off the deck, hug up the doors with insulation and I am still sooooooo slow to mound up the roses. I for one am grateful for the Toronto Indian Summer. On another note - had a WAKE for my Uncle on Friday. A few of us got together at Bloor and Prince Edward and then went to the Legion - and then Jim and I came home to continue the WAKE! It was a good day and a great remembrance for my Uncle. I had never been to a graveyard in years and this one was a so good in that we all put something into the box that my Uncle is resting in. A rose, a hockey puck, a poppy, a pin, praying hands. I had never seen this before - it is like a time capsule. Here are the pics of that day:

Fight Night at the Travis'
Once a month, the boyz all get together to watch the fight at our home. They all contribute. But this last one was a blast - 15 boyz showed up and I think we made money for the fight. The pics don't really show how it looked when me and J.T. went down to see WHAT UP! THE PLACE WAS PACKED! We love it though. Good times! Memories! - P.S. Somehow my cousin showed up and I am not sure how to delete - Guess he should have been there. Ah Well - Fun!
Finally - the Garden Purged - NOW TO SEW!

The minister was an Irish Baptist who got all involved in the service. i.e. The Lord is - WHAT - and we responded OUR SHEPHERD.
UNCLE BRUCE - YOU ARE TRULY MISSED TODAY - AND FOREVER! I PERSONALLY LOVED YOU TONS - AS DID MY HUBBY - XXX000 to a wonderful Uncle and friend.

NEW QUILT
I am finally making a new quilt - Have not made one in 5 years - I went downtown to MACFAB to get a fabric with MATRYUSKAS. These are Russian dolls that have a bunch of dolls inside them that go down in size INSIDE the original Matryuska. The Matryuska is a grandma . I will be taking this fabric and cutting out the Matryuskas and putting them in diverse places on the quilt with candlelight in the centre. I got 20 tulips in today - Tomorrow another 36 tulips and then down to the sewing room to get going on this quilt.
