CHRISTMAS VILLAGE
Just saw this on facebook and I love it. With the livingroom getting redecorated, the village, tree, creche, reindeer head and other stuff is waiting for next year. ALBEIT, this idea is fantastic for all the village houses, etc. that we have.
A WOLF PACK STORY
"A wolf pack: the first 3 are the old or sick, they give the pace to the entire pack. If it was the other way round, they would be left behind, losing contact with the pack. In case of an ambush they would be sacrificed. Then come 5 strong ones, the front line. In the center are the rest of the pack members, then the 5 strongest following. Last is alone, the alpha. He controls everything from the rear. In that position he can see everything, decide the direction. He sees all of the pack. The pack moves according to the elders pace and help each other, watch each other."

Kamriell Welty Photography
I want to give a heads up to Kamriell Welty Photography located in Bow, Washington for this amazing image of 153 bald eagles gathered on Mount Baker Highway. For me this is a very prophetic image. They have a website and also are on Facebook. Wonderful photography. All rights to this image are for the photographer - it is for sale on her website. Please respect this!!!

FLY AGARIC and OMG SANTA
The internet is filled with information. I never knew about this magic mushroom but I have seen it since a child - on Christmas cards, in books, in Super Mario and....... well, when I made my gnome house at the bottom of the tree this year I placed these magic mushrooms around it and never knew that they represented getting high.

ALBERTA LANDSCAPE
When I lived in Alberta I became obsessed with the Blackfoot Native Americans visiting the museum quite regularly. Today while surfing the web I found these coordinates that show something pretty amazing not too far from Medicine Hat. Put into google Alberta 50° 0'38.20"N 110° 6'48.32"W, click maps and then click the earth icon. Zoom out a bit - very cool eh!!! It looks to me like a scout Blackfoot Native American with an ipod in his ear.........and my husbands cousin told me that there is Blackfoot in their family line. Buda Bing!!!

CHARLES WYSOCKI - A CARDINAL CHRISTMAS
My screensaver for over 3 months - there just is something about this image that I love. I originally got it at a fleamarket as a puzzle but sheesh 1000 pieces. It is now a collector and is going for over 40 dollars on ebay - ouch - gave it to St. Vincent.

RICKY SYERS & DORIS DIETHER
Ricky Syers is an off-beat 50 year old street performer who found his calling as a puppeteer after a lifetime of manual labor. While performing in New York City’s Washington Square Park, he met Doris Diether, an 86 year old community activist. They became friends and he made a marionette that looks just like her. Now she’s joined his act and the two of them can often be seen performing together.

LOWDOWN TRACKS
I still have the FALL look on here as we have not had snow yet. As a matter of fact, as we were preparing the outside for winter, we were out in T-shirts as it has been a long Native American Summer here in Ontario. Last night I was clicking thru the TV looking for something to watch and TVO had a wonderful documentary. I hope you will take the 1.5 hrs to watch it. Here is the link
http://tvo.org/video/documentaries/lowdown-tracks-feature-version
Inspired by depression-era folk songs, filmmaker Shelley Saywell and singer and activist Lorraine Segato set out to document the music and stories of those who live on the margins of society and bare their souls through their songs on the streets of Toronto. It's a journey that takes us along abandoned tracks, beneath bridges, inside shelters, rooming houses and alleyways, and celebrates the music and survival of those who live on the outside.

CHICKEN OUTFIT
A friend out in Victoria sent me a picture of her 2 chickens who had found there way inside the house. 'Bad Girls', she said. I told her to tell the girls they would have to wear these if they did it again. I should make them eh?
Here is our gnome house at the bottom of the front tree.

AWESOME STORM
Yesterday due to the fact that I am under the weather (no pun intended) I stayed in touch with Ontario Tornado Watch online viewing amazing photos of the storms that came thru. Just before the following image came thru to go over the lake we were stowing away the many potted planters. The image is coming south from downsview. Saw it as it passed us. Never seen anything like these shelf clouds before.
Outside of the city these ones were taken and I liked them because they had faces.
This was just added to OTW online - EF2 touchdown in Teviotdale - 220 km/h - northwest of Elora. Here is what was said - This is my daughter's video. My husband was driving the vehicle at the time it was being shot. They pulled over immediately after she stopped recording this. They both said at that point it did take him using both hands to pull the car over to the shoulder and it was at that they described it becoming completely "black" in front of them as if they were in a "black dust storm". They said people did continue to drive right towards it and Chad was quite surprised they could control their vehicles. Tailor assured me the funnel cloud does look closer to them then it actually was but still too close for comfort.

DECORAH EAGLETS
Whoahhhh - the babies are looking more like kiddos. Here is the webcam link (and the wikplayer sounds great with the sounds from the Decorah link) http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles
Well HELLO
I guess we have been busy preparing the garden because the last time I posted on here was early April. It has been a chilly Spring and not enough rain. They say rain and then ...... it does not rain. So, I added a wikplayer of morning rain and birds.

TODAY IN THE WHITEHORSE STAR 'PERSONALS'
I THINK THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE EMERALD LAKE AND KLONDIKE HWY |
TRADITIONAL DRESS OF MY GREATGRANDMOTHERS
I found this image the other day of the peasant females dress on the Island of Vormsi in the Baltic Sea where my grandfather and generations back to the 1500's lived. The second image is actually the town of Hullo where my grandfather was born (b. 1886) - I am thinking of finding a china doll at a second hand store and redressing it in the traditional dress.
INTERNET NASTY
One thing that really gets to me on the internet is how people who you are not face to face with, whom hiding behind their desktops have the audacity to respond with the most horrid comments. These responses deflect from the actual subject and for sure cause peoples blood pressures to rise. This image says it all.
FIRSTBORN DECORAH EAGLET D21
This image of eaglet D21 amuses me as he looks into the webcam. My name for him is Reuben a name given to firstborn males meaning BEHOLD A SON. The next image is also great of Mom, also looking right into the webcam. ..... and by the way, I am not sure which is male or female but for my own fun I have chosen the gender. Here is the link to view via webcam http://www.ustream.tv/decoraheagles

BUFFET
I went to Plantworld on Eglinton and got me and mom an Easter Lily. She was so impressed that there were 9 blooms. I did not notice that. Usually I get them at No Frills and there are around 5-6 blooms. Stunning. I got a Hyacinthe too and there were 6 bulbs.

APPLE PHISHING EMAILS
I have had two of these in two weeks. They usually end up in my junk mail which I peruse daily and empty. First of all, I do not have an apple ID. Also, note that the email looks like it was sent from yourself. To check that out just click on reply and your name will come up on the left hand side as a contact. You will see that there is not a sender noted - if there was I would copy and paste it into hotmail/outlook BLOCK. Here is a link to see more about this.

REPAIR, REUSE, MAKE DO AND DON'T THROW ANYTHING AWAY.........
...... was a motto from the Great Depression. An interesting story popped up the other day about flour sacks. They used to make them in floral prints as people used them to make dresses. It would take more than one flour sack to make a dress so what became good for the goose was also good for the gander. Today, vintage flour sacks are highly sought out on ebay auctions mostly to make vintage quilts.

I USED TO BE ABLE TO DO THIS.....
I love all the creativity that one finds on the internet these days. I bought an extension years ago that I still have that matched my hair way back when. The only way I could do this now adays is with a wig - mmmmmmmm.
EASTER ISLAND STATUES
I looked into this last year and just reposting because I think it is pretty interesting that alot of people did not know that the Easter Island HEADS have bodies too.

DECORAH EAGLES- IOWA - March 5th
Female eagles are larger than male eagles. In this youtube, the mother eagle comes back to the nest to relieve the father eagle. Note that the father eagle likes his eggs in a row and the mother likes hers in a triangle. I think that this nest is very close to a fish hatchery and hope one day I can see one of them bringing home a fish.
