Mom's 87th on June 21st (P.S. - click on pics to make larger)

For Moms 87th I really wanted her sister Mary and Bruce. Bruce showed up at 2:30 and his oxygen ran out at 6:30 and he had to go home without a meal. Nevertheless, good to get these 3 together last Sunday, June 21.

Sue (Cams gal) and Rick (me bro) and Art (Surprise guests - my dads sisters son-in-law going to be 80 this year - NO WAY - so youthful)

Jim watching over the barbeque with Sis in law Carol

Singing Happy Birthday (note the Butterfly Cake that my friend Sharon made - so beautiful) - Mom, Sue, Moms Sister Mary, My cousin going on 80 - NO WAY - BETTY - (Arts wife) and Cam

Moms sister wrote a beautiful poem for her sister Dorothy - This is a pic of Mom reading her sister's Mary's card

For Mom's 87th - Cam, Rick and I got mom an oak mantle clock that is battery operated and plays Westminster Chimes - at the number 3, 6 and 9 and then full Westminster chimes at 12. It shuts down at 11 P.M. (a choice that one has with this clock) and then starts up again at 6 A.M. I went to moms on Monday and set it all up and she just loves it.

Just one more look at the cake - Sharon made a butterfly cake for mom - Aunt Mary wore butterfly earrings and Sue gave mom a butterfly card - The butterfly represents RESURRECTION LIFE.

Cam and Sue leaving in the convertible. I just had to take this pic. I remember those days when Jimmy and I just met and used to cruise in the convertible Camaro.

SUMMER DINNER PARTY PREP.

Tomorrow is Moms 87th birthday and Fathers Day and we are having a party. Today is rainy but tomorrow is supposed to be super. We are having a barbequed Roast Beef and Salmon Steaks. Went downtown to St. Lawrence Market to pick up the goods. Had the cheapest, most amazing Eggs Benedict before shopping.

This is tooo Funny!

Hi .... I need a small favor ... If it's not too much trouble. I am going away on vacation, and I need a friend to come over to water my plants while I am gone. The plants are mostly geraniums and begonias. In the hot weather they'll probably only need water twice a day. I'll be gone only 21 days. I've attached a photo for your reference.

I'll send you a post card.

Thanks. :-)

WINGDING

Today drove Mom up to Nephews place in Cookstown. Dropped her off and went to the Cookstown Wingding - Cookstown holds an annual garage sale where all the people of that town have garage sales, food, etc. I must have hit 50 houses and got what I was looking for and more. While I could have posted more picks of this sale I found it most interesting to see this STOREFRONT. LICE!!!! I guess it must be a going concern!

BRO JEFF BIRTHDAY

As much as I would rather be gardening (had 2 weeks of unslightly weather) we went out today to celebrate JT's bros birthday. It turned out to be a very good thing. I sure needed to relax in their backyard. They live by the lake in Burlington and there are trees that surround the yard. The sound of the wind blowin in the trees was awesome and reminded me of being up at the cottage when I was little. After backbreaking gardening it sure was good to just hear the sound of the wind and have great conversation.
