WINTER TULIPS

Our snow out front looks like this --- I would like to do this.  Stay tuned.

LINEUPS MADE MORE RESTFUL

This image was taken in Thailand but apparently they do this in other places as well.  The people take their shoes off and sit waiting for their names to be called.  I do not mind being barefoot but for sure everyone would have to be in agreement to taking their shoes off.

PINK VELVET BANANA

This is so cool eh?  Toronto is planting zone 6 BUT if you are closer to the lake as we are then you would be planting zone 6b or 7.  The Pink Velvet Banana is a planting zone/cold hardiness 7b or 8 to 10 so I do not think this would work here.  Albeit, it makes a great indoor plant so maybe it could go in a pot outside in the summer and be brought inside for winter.  I think Victoria, B.C. is a zone 9b or 10 so this would work for you Dottie.

Here is a link to read more about this - http://statebystategardening.com/state.php/la/hotplants/pink_velvet_banana/

I saw this the other day and thought of you Dottie

BABY GOAT YELLING

This is cute.  BUT --- they actually filmed the goat first and then added the script after.

TORONTO MYSTERY UNDERGROUND BUNKER

This was discovered 6 weeks ago.  The following video is lengthy.  I do not think it is terrorism related.  I think it is moreso end of the world or crisis related.  Perhaps they will get to the bottom of this and we will know why someone built a bunker on public property.  YorkU is close by so it could be kids from there - a project?  I have to wonder where the extension cord plugged into for the heater,

Man So Distracted By Cellphone That He Misses Massive Whales Just Feet Away

This became a viral video on how people miss out by always looking down at their smart phones.  In researching this on more posts and viewing comments -  apparently he did not miss it.  He was clearing data to continue videotaping the whales.  SO THERE!

TURN GREY HAIR BACK TO ITS NATURAL COLOUR???

Just going to copy and paste this.  You do the research.  You be the judge.

All that used this remedy will tell that this drink definitely improves sight and also improves the health of the skin to. But the most special effect of this homemade drink is that it turns the white hairs to its previous (natural) color and makes your hair thickerthan it was before.

The ingredients needed for this amazing drink:

  • 200 grams /7 oz of flaxseed oil
  • 4 lemons
  • 3 cloves of garlic (small)
  • 1 kilogram/2,2 lbs of honey

The method of preparation:

Put the lemons and the garlic in a blender and then mix them well. You should peel just 2 of the lemons before you put them in a blender. Then, you should add the honey and the flaxseed and then mix again. Put the resulted mixture in a glass bowl and close it well with a lid. Put the mixture in the fridge and let it stay there.

Hair

How to consume this homemade drink:

Thirty minutes before each meal, you should consume 1 tablespoon of this mixture. It’s recommended to use wooden spoons instead of metal ones!
You should consume this mixture 3 times a day.
This is a truly amazing drink and remedy, and its ingredients are very powerful allies to our health and still they are very easy to find, which makes this drink simply perfect.

GOULASH

The word Goulash comes from the Hungarian word Gulyás pronounced almost the same only with no L, which is a word for a Hungarian Herdsman/Sheppard or Cowboy.  The origin of the soup...can be traced back to the ninth century--shepherds cut their meat into cubes, cooked it with onion in a heavy iron kettle (bogracs) and slowly stewed the dish until all the liquid evaporated. They dried the remnants in the sun (probably on their sheepskin capes), and then put the dried food in a bag made of the sheep's stomach. Whenever they wanted food, they took out a piece of the fired meat, added some water and reheated it. With a lot of liquid, it became a gulyas soup...if less liquid was added, it became culyas meat.

ARTIST - PIOTR FAFROWICZ

I wanted to post a comment on their site but it was just too much work to get thru to comment so I am hoping they will see their name on the internet and pop in here.  Just to let you know PIOTR, I just love your art.  I like how you use colour.  We are fans of folk art as well.  I saw this one on a fav blog and liked it for Valentines Day (our 23rd anniversary) and then I went looking for all Piotr's art - (I have posted other artists work in the subject line and they have gotten in touch)

JOKE TIME

An Englishman, a Frenchman, a Spaniard and a German are all standing watching an American street performer do some juggling. The juggler notices the four gentleman have a very poor view, so he stands up on a wooden crate and calls out, "Can you all see me now?"
"Yes"
"Oui"
"Sí"
"Ja"

(it took me a bit to get this)

HARVEY'S - JANE AND FALSTAFF

One memory that I have is being at Doug MacKenzies and his friend owned an El Camino.  The boys filled the back up with water and soap suds and Andrea and a few other girls got in the back in their bathing suits and we drove over to Harveys in Weston where all the HOT CARS hung out.  I think I went over in the Nugemobile.  Fun times.

DO YOU GET HUNGRY WHEN ON THE COMPUTER?

I can relate to this albeit not always when people are trolling and yelling (typing in caps) etc. on the internet.  I do for some reason get hungry when I see something interesting to read.  This image was posted on a blog site which was giving their opinion on the weight loss/health product Isagenix where over 800 comments had become quite heated.  This image had me laughing.

NEW SERIES - GRANTCHESTER

On Sundays, after DOWNTON ABBEY on Masterpiece Theatre, is a newer series called GRANTCHESTER.  Last nite was the 3rd installment.  One the actresses favourite flower on the show (the not so nice other sister) was CORNFLOWER.  As a gardener, I took note of the flower and lo and behold today, on a site that I frequent, they had this wonderful image.  I will have to get some of these seeds - the blue would really stand out in the garden.

TDOT SNOW DAY

Finally we got our real first snow storm of the season.  JT and AT got out there around 8 and I went to go for my coffee but the plow had not gone down the street and I got stuck on the road out front.  2 neighbours and JT got the car back into the driveway.  Apparently, the forecasted weather is cold and snow.  Bring it -

This image was on one of my fav blogs today - appropriately it is called A SNOWY MONDAY, artist Lilla Cabot Perry, 1926
