REST IN PEACE

For so many years, I never visited my dads resting spot in a wall at the cemetery.  A few years ago I started to make it a tradition to put a Christmas wreath on his wall with my mom on Christmas Day.  This year, I made a Spring one.  Also, my Nana and Poppy are in the same cemetery and hopefully this summer will put in something around their stone in the ground.  All the other Camerons are in the prestigious Mount Pleasant cemetery but my Nana was by no means going to be buried anywhere near them.  LOL - and the Mother and Mother-in-law conundrum continues.  I sure hope it stops with our son.  SOBEIT!!!

PERENNIAL SPRING BLOOMS

My brother in King has a forest in the front of his home loaded with Trillium.  Last year we filled up 3 pots and transplanted them into our side garden with the lily-of-the-valley.  To my delight they came up and just love them.  In our vegie garden every year, forget me knots come up and fill it - so beautiful.  After they die down we dig in manure, soil, peat and then put in vegies.  This year we are focusing moreso on getting real good soil so most likely corn will just go in to decorate the front for the Fall.

FRONTYARD

The icestorm this winter was not kind to our front grass.  We have been working hard to establish healthy thick grass this Spring.  The BRIDAL VEIL SPIREA on the side of the house are in full bloom and look spectacular this year.  The front is finished, the grass is slowly coming back and the pansies in the 3 pots will stay until the heat and humid weather arrives whereby I will fill them with colourful geraniums and begonias.

OUTDOOR PAINTING PROJECTS

Our neighbour a few years ago built a fantastic 6 foot high fence going down between our backyards.  I just love the privacy.  As I was sitting in the back corner Secret Place spot I had an idea to paint art onto wood and hang it up on the fence.  Since I have always wanted to have a vintage trailer right in our back yard I found this picture online and this week will start to draw an outdoor scene with this trailer on it.  I know where a vintage RETRO BOLER trailer is sitting, unused and belonged to a dear friend who is no longer with us but her son now lives in her home.  One day I will get the courage up to ask him if he would like to sell the trailer. - fingers crossed.  Another project ----- a friend made us 5 CHICKADEE birdhouses unpainted.  JT has painted two of them.

EMBROIDERY PROJECT KISMET

I found a jean skirt at the 2nd hand store which was larger than my own size and I have taken it apart to refit. The pockets are off from the back and I have started to embroider the pockets first and then the whole skirt.  On one of the pockets I did a swirl design in the colours of the rainbow.  Suddenly I started to see the swirl everywhere I went.  I found stirling silver earrings at Marios the Jeweller (dear friend of Terry and Jan Chappelle), and then was having a coffee at Starbucks and looked up and there was a photo of swirls in a field in South American - another was when I was buying some embroidery thread at Singers and looked into the counter payout area and ------ more swirls.  Interesting.  I have a revelation of what it means.  Will post a picture of the pockets after I sew the skirt back together.  Love this project.  Love to embroider - such a relaxing craft and the designs are just coming together spontaneously.
