PUMPIN UP THE SUMMER TUNES

YA KNOW YA WANT IT! - For alot of us it has been a very long winter. Today, it is raining in TDOT. Tomorrow is raining in TDOT. I managed within the rain to go out to garden. That is really all I want to do right now. Even though it is not truly summer I am putting out a summer tune for all to enjoy. With a little YADA, DADA, YADA, YO!

BIG BESSIE

We have a vegie garden at the south-west corner of our backyard. I picked up some Dill Pumpkin Seeds at the market. 7 in total - all fresh. I planted them downstairs under garden lights and 2 came up. While we normally have a bunch of stuff in the vegie garden this year due to BIG BESS we only have tomatoes at the south end, a small patch of Indian corn to the west and BIG BESS at the north end. She is doing well. Here is a pic of what could be produced:

I am not expecting anything that large. When A.T. was 3 (17 years ago) we had a rather large pumpkin develop and we were on the front of our local newspaper with this wonder. I am sure hoping that this year we could produce a larger pumpkin and do a THEN AND NOW PIC. Crossing fingers and hoping for the best. BESSIE YOU GO GIRL!

OLD AGE THOUGHTS

I was just pondering the other day about old age. My mom is going on 87. Lucille our eldest cat is going on 16 on May 26th. Bubbah (Lucilles firstborn kitten) is going on 15 on June 21. Buckwheat (Lucilles 2nd born) is 14 as of April 14th. Our 1st puppy Babe is going on 13 in June. Today, we have all the catz and puppies and mom with us. But that could change anytime. Someone would be missing. Someone that we have had in our lives for quite some time now. Last night, at 3 in the morning I noticed something wrong with our puppy Babe - He was shaking - When I got home today from a day trip to Cambridge - Jimmy was cuddling our boy puppy Babe (we call him Baby Boyzzzz) who must have sprained his ankle while jumping off the bed last night. My husband has been nursing him allllllll day. Old age comes eh??? People and our animals come and go. Life is change. The things that are the things that we are used to seeing and experiencing day after day do not last forever. I see the old age in Babe, in our catz and in my Mom - In a way, this blog is preparing for the inevitable. A change in our happy little family that will not be the same with even one missing. Thank you Dot for inspiring a garden - a new way to garden and keeping going on. Thru you there is me!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY 2009

Mothers day card from my son.

Mom is here today for Mothers Day dinner. Here is Grandmothers day card and Mom.

65th Birthday

The weather was not good for the planned golf game so a bunch of people took him out to a movie first. 50 people showed up for the surprise 65th birthday party for my brother. They brought him in blind folded and then we all yelled "SURPRISE". He was thrilled. The caterers did a great Greek dinner enjoyed by all. We then went to the recroom and everyone introduced themselves saying how they know my brother. We then played an ''ALL ABOUT RICK" questionnaire game. Brents little ones sang a song as did Nicole playing guitar (Bob Denver - Sunshine On My Shoulders) with Brent playing harmonica and then a bunch of people said a little something - mostly all hilarious. Then we had the cake. It was great to see so many of my brothers friends from High School.

Hey there. Just an update of WHA-UP!. Brothers 65th tomorrow. J.T. and I have made a poster and it has taken up alot of time. Visiting and taking pics of where he went to school, where we lived and looking for so much stuff on the internet, etc. etc. etc . Got all the pics cut out last night and then spent 5 hours putting stuff onto the poster and looking for more inserts. My brother just thinks that tomorrow he is going out golfing with around 20 people but when he gets home there will be over 60 people there. Fully catered GREEK DINNER - WHOOOOOAHHHH - MY FAV! We are taking out the Poster (fully framed) and picking up all the balloons. On another note - All the 5 Flats of various ZINNIAS are coming up. - Got hu-mun-gus Pumpkins and one has finally sprouted and 11' sunflowers are ticking me off - with only one up so far (these are all under lights in our home). Gardening, tidying, planning, painting - WHEW - Spring is such a busy time here. All is well though. After tomorrows party will get back with a pic of the poster and pics from the party. Nance - Happy Mothers Day! and Happy Mothers Day to all those that visit TDOT. We will be super relaxing on Sunday, May 10,2009 - Got a roast and will have Mom over. Mind you I would be rather doing what our YOUNGEST boy is doing - Lennox - Stretching, relaxing - Ahhhhhhh to be a Cat.
